Submission: Pre-Budget Consultations in Advance of the 2026 Budget

Clean Energy Canada’s submission for the federal government’s 2026 pre-budget consultations outlines five recommendations to strengthen Canada’s competitiveness, affordability, and energy security in a rapidly electrifying global economy. The submission calls for expanding the Clean Technology Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit to include strategic grid technologies, introducing voluntary domestic content incentives under federal clean economy tax credits, launching a new Better Homes Canada initiative to lower household energy bills and reduce energy poverty, expanding support for EV charging infrastructure through tax credits and public investment, and leveraging federal housing and infrastructure funding to increase demand for lower-carbon building materials and design.

Together, these measures would help position Canada as a clean energy superpower while delivering economic and affordability benefits for Canadians.
